New York Times - Mr. Dan Barry
"Late that afternoon we stopped nine miles short of Gort in the seaport village of Kinvara, where we spent the night at the pleasant relatively new hotel called the Merriman. Kinvara was fairly quiet. We walked its narrow streets, pubs and the occasional shop catering to visitors....... It seemed to us that the village had struck a wonderful balance between tourism and a dedication to preserving its beauty.

Kinvara also provided one of those serene moments destined to linger in memory........drinking stout, eating smoked salmon and watching the boats bob in Kinvara Bay."
