Galway East Wayfinding - which won top prize at the 2008 Galway County Heritage Awards - is a unique and exciting project that brings the rich and varied built heritage of Galway East to life through the use of 21st century media.
The Ecclesiastical Driving Tours consist of two circuits of Galway East which feature 21 of the region's oldest, best preserved and most fascinating ecclesiastical sites - including Ross Errilly Friary near Headford, Kilmacduagh with its ancient, leaning round tower, and the magnificent Cathedral at Loughrea.
The Architectural Walking Trails are made up of six towns tours - Athenry, Gort, Loughrea, Ballinasloe, Portumna and Ballinasloe, and focus on each town's individual architectural heritage : ranging from the 13th century Friary at Athenry to the catholic church of 1961 in Portumna.
Everything you need to take yourself on one or all of these tours can be downloaded for free from this website.
